The Studio

Karen Asprea is an interior designer with roots in Brooklyn, New York. She has a townhouse studio in Tribeca and an office in historic Coral Gables, Miami.

Over her nineteen-year career, Karen has focused on creating curated, luxury design for residential towers, hospitality projects, and private homes. Her resume currently encompasses over 7 million square feet of residential and commercial construction.

Laying a strong career foundation working for noted architect, Costas Kondylis, Karen learned the intricacies of the development early in her career. She later joined one of the largest architecture firms in New York and co-founded an interior design company which she grew to a $10 million business. In this, she was the youngest managing partner at the firm at 26 years old.

In 2018, Karen started her own design studio, applying her industry expertise together with outstanding design to provide high-level services for her clients.

Karen Asprea’s studio provides a multidisciplinary approach to interior design and design architecture, from custom furniture to developing budgets and project management of $300M+ new construction projects. Karen’s dedicated team of designers curate stunning finish packages that are sensitive to her clients’ needs whether they are private homeowners or corporate developers.

The Philosophy

Karen designs spaces that are meant to evolve with time, use and human interaction. The daily impacts of spaces being lived in, sat on and touched aids in the aging process and enhances the beauty of natural materials over their life cycle.

Karen’s work is comprised of natural materials that are meant to age with time, extending the life cycle and adding to the sustainability of every project she works on.

Using tonal palettes, she creates elegant yet minimal spaces with unexpected material combinations.
